Why Volunteer
Volunteerism is a centerpiece of the Village model. We facilitate the capacity to support each other, which promotes benefits to both the volunteers and the members.
Our Village has a “volunteer-first” policy, finding a qualified volunteer to fulfill a request before referring members to a commercial vendor.
You do not have to join as a member to be a volunteer. Our volunteers include non-members, members, their children, college students, empty nesters, retirees, and many others from the community.
There are Volunteer Opportunities for anyone who wants to make good use of their skills, do something that speaks to their interests, and become part of a wonderful community of neighbors helping neighbors committed to improving the quality of life of seniors in our community.
Some of the benefits volunteers experience include:
- Staying active – physically, mentally and socially
- Connecting with others, and feeling part of the community
- Putting talents, skills and capacities to good use
- Paying it forward – knowing that someday each of us will also need support
- Reducing social isolation
All our volunteers are fully vetted and attend our training program.
