A Fraud Fact A Day Can Keep Scammers Away

Scams are everywhere: the phone calls, texts, emails, fake employers, robotic voices, and people we don’t know. The FBI says cases involving older people are on the rise. In 2021, there were 92,371 older victims of fraud- leading to $1.7 billion in losses; a 74% increase from 2020. AARP is here to act as wise friend and fierce defender and we want to arm people with the right tools to combat scams. We host our Fraud Talk Tuesdays on the second Tuesday of every month and have resources available via our Fraud Watch Network to do so.
